The USC Makati in partnership with the Student Affairs Office and the Community Outreach Movement Pro-Active Student Ser-vices (COMPASS) conducted a community outreach program last May 7, 2018 at the Bahay Alima, a home for the abandoned el-derly, in Tagaytay, Cavite.
Disaster unified the Centro Escolar University – Makati community as they came up with the Mount Mayon Disaster Relief Donation Drive led by Mrs. Gemma Gornez, coordinator of the Commu-nity Outreach Section. Students, professors, staff and alumni par-ticipated in this donation drive to give help and assistance to those affected by the Mt. Mayon eruption last January 2018.
The Hotel and Restaurant Management and Tourism Management students donated toiletries, the Computer Science and Information Technology students together with Psychology students donated instant food, the Dentistry students donated clothes and blankets, the Pharmacy students, over the counter medicines, the Medical Technology students and the students from the Law and Jurisprudence, donated water and disposable garments, the Sen-ior High School donated snacks, the Nursing students donated varied goods that would help in respiratory protection, eye protection, disposa-ble flashlights, the Business Administration students were asked to give canned goods, and the non-teaching staff, clothes and shoes. The assigned goods were asked to be dropped off on the 6th Floor, the Community Outreach Section and Medical Technology office, Gil Puyat campus and at the 2nd floor, Legaspi Village campus.
The donations were brought to Sto.Domingo, resident of Legazpi City, Albay headed by Mr. Ferdinand Villanueva, Supervisor of Eaglestar Security.
