CEU-PACE Presents Webinar Series on COVID-19 Health Awareness
Centro Escolar University Professional and Continuing Education (CEU-PACE) offered a six-part webinar series on COVID-19 health awareness which started on August 20, 2020 and will run up to January 2021 via MS Teams live event.
Wide range of relevant topics on CoVid-19 was prepared for the CEU community to be discussed by health experts on their respective field of practice once every month.
The pilot series of the virtual learning session was an update on the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccine and treatment development led by Dr. Beaver Tamesis, Country Manager and CEO of Merck Sharp and Dome (MSD) Philippines.
On September 18, 2020 at 10:00-11:30 a.m., Dr. Fedelyn Estrella, Dean, College of Allied Medical Sciences, Lyceum of the Philippines University in Cavite will tackle “First Things First: The Whys and Hows of Biorisk Management in a Clinical Laboratory” which will be hosted by the School of Medical Technology.
Ms. Suzette Dela Cruz-Regalo, Principal Planning Officer, Digital Health Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in Australia will be the next speaker on October 16, 2020 at 9:00-10:30 a.m. with “Preparing Workplaces for CoVid-19: Safety of Workers a Priority” as topic. This will be hosted by the School of Nursing.
The next webinar set by the School of Dentistry on November 20, 2020 at 10:00-11:30 a.m. will focus on “Dental Practice in the Midst of CoVid-19 Pandemic: The Science of Dental Aerosols” to be discussed by Dr. Eric M. Pena, Peer Review Board Examiner, California Dental Association. This will be followed by the discussion on “Digital Eyestrain in the Midst of Online Learning” by Dr. Jeanette Romualdez-Oo, Fellow, American Academy of Optometry and International Association of Contact Lens Educators on December 11, 2020 at 10:00-11:30 a.m. This will be in coordination with the School of Optometry.
Mr. Christian Pelayo, Pharmacy Manager, Kroger Pharmacy, Ferndale, Michigan, USA will complete the webinar series through his talk on “Advancing Pharmacist Role in Clinical Services and Point of Care Testing in Times of Pandemic and Beyond” next year on January 22, at 10:00-11:30 a.m. It will be hosted by the School of Pharmacy.
