No pandemic can stop Centro Escolar University’s traditions as it officially closes the semester through the Virtual Commencement Exercises with the very first staging of the Virtual Sampaguita Interlude on July 16, 2021 for its Manila and Malolos campuses and July 23, 2021 for its Makati campus.
Both events on the said consecutive dates will begin with the Baccalaureate Mass at 8:00 am. For Manila and Malolos Commencement Exercises, there will be two clusters of graduation rites. The first cluster is for the graduates of the School of Accountancy, School of Dentistry, School of Education, Liberal Arts, Music, Social Work, School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management, School of Science and Technology, School of Medicine and Graduate School. The second one which is set at 2:00 pm will present the graduates of the School of Medical Technology, School of Optometry, School of Pharmacy, and CEU Malolos.
The CEU Makati Commencement Exercises will be for its undergraduate and graduate programs and Juris Doctor.
As it was done in the previous years, the traditional Sampaguita Interlude is held before the graduation rites. The interlude is an annual event unique to CEU where the senior and junior students assemble to create beautiful flower formations as they sing songs about the sampaguita. Highlighting the ceremony is the graduates’ transferring of sampaguita garlands to their junior partners, symbolizing the passing of responsibility to the incoming seniors. How the 82nd Sampaguita Interlude will turn out virtually will be a real revelation to the CEU community.
