Centro Escolar University Hails Mr. and Ms. CEU 2018
It’s the most beautiful day for Centro Escolar University as it finally hailed this year’s Mr. and Ms. CEU during its Grand Coronation Night last January 26, 2018 at the Student Activity Center in CEU Manila.
With charm and grace, Raycia Garcia from the School of Accountancy and Management and Miguel Basibas from CEU Makati campus conquered the stage and won the most coveted crowns. Having not just the good looks, both of them also got the Best in Talent Awards.
Joining the hall of winners are Chris Donela from the School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management and Lois Badando from the School of Pharmacy who were named 1st Runners-up, followed by the 2nd Runners-up, Julliard Cruz from CEU Malolos and Jessica Carillo from the School of Optometry.
The 23 candidates exceptionally transformed into gorgeous ladies and dashing gentlemen with their formal and swimwear attire as they walked with glam and confidence. Charles Sison from the School of Dentistry and Lois Badando were awarded as Best in Formal Wear while Wyle Binondo from the School of Medical Technology and Ms. Badando were named Best in Swimwear.
Special awards were also given to School of Education-Liberal Arts-Music-Social Work candidate Aaron Dioquino and Jessica Carillo who were chosen as the Mr. and Ms. Photogenic. Miguel Basibas and Gianelle Balaton both received the Mr. and Ms. Fortitude and Mr. and Ms. Integrity awards. Julliard Cruz and Gianelle Balaton also got the Mr. and Ms. Friendship Awards. Mr. and Ms. Security Bank were Aaron Dioquino and Lois Badando. Kristian Ace Arceo from the School of Pharmacy topped the online voting and won the Smart People’s Choice Award.
Filipino hip-hop recording artist and actor, JV Kapunan and OPM singer Ronnie Liang rendered songs during the Swimwear and Formal Wear competition, respectively.
Man of the World 2017 Mustafa Galal Elezali, Miss Supranational 2016 Joanna Eden, and Miss Eco Philippines 2017 Cynthia Thomalla graced the event as members of the board of judges with Mr. Christian Torio, GMA Artist Center Recruitment Head and Ms. Vivian Manila, Men’s and Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Executive Director of the Board of Directors.
Reigning Mr. and Ms. CEU, Renz Paul Del Rosario from CEU Makati and Patrisha Genato of the School of Optometry expressed their gratitude in their final walk as Mr. and Ms. CEU 2017. They shared how wonderful their journey was and how a lot of opportunities have opened during their reign as King and Queen of the campus. They were not just able to enjoy the privileges of being titleholders but also had the chance to inspire other people.
Truly, this annual event does not only train the students to be competent but also develops and nourishes their character. The University believes that competence will always come with character, for competence alone is nothing.
